Citywide Projects
Update:
08/19/26: As of now the approximate start date is summer 2027, with an estimated completion time of 2 years. Improvements include:
- Widening from two lanes to four lanes from just north of Tecumseh Rd. in Norman to just south of 34th St. in Moore
- A two-way left turn lane between Tecumseh Rd. and Franklin Rd.
- A sidewalk on the west side of the roadway for the full length of the project
- A full length 10-foot-wide multimodal bike/pedestrian trail on the east side of the roadway that is part of a long-range plan to connect trails between Norman, Moore and Oklahoma City
- New signalized intersections, crosswalks, and pedestrian crossings
- A new underground storm sewer system along the roadway to replace the current ditches and drainage culverts
UPDATE: 04/01/25- This project is still in the utility relocation phase. Utility providers will be on the right-of-way of both sides of Telephone Rd. moving their lines in preparation for the widening. There is no scheduled start time as it is dependent on the relocation efforts.
The project will consist of removal and replacement of sub-grade and base materials, as well as replacement of the existing driving surface with concrete between SW 19th Street and SW 34th Street. Including necessary curb and guttering, storm drainage improvements, sidewalks, streetscape and utility line replacement. Telephone Road will also be widened from 4-lanes to 5-lanes. This is a $10.9 million project.
Sooner Rd from Tecumseh to SE 89th St
9/20/26 - Silver Star Construction will be resurfacing US-77 (Sooner Road) with an asphalt mill and overlay project from Tecumseh Road in Norman north thru Moore to SE 89th St. in OKC. All work will be performed in the evening hours from 6:00pm to 6:00am, Sunday night thru Thursday night. At least one lane north and one lane south will remain open during this resurface project. This is an ODOT project with all work to be completed within 90 calendar days, weather permitting.
NW 12th St & I-35 Frontage Rd Southbound, West Side of the Highway
8/21/26 - Crews will be closing one lane at a time for concrete repairs. Both lanes will be repaired. The speed limit will be reduced to 35mph. This project will take approximately 10-14 days, weather permitting.
Double G Ranch Addition
9/3/26 - Veolia will begin Double G Ranch Addition sewer rehab. Estimated completion date is December 2026, weather permitting.
Pole Rd
06/04/26 - Water Extension from NW 27th St along Pole Rd to city limits. In addition, utility extension is occurring along the I-35 access road just west of Pole Rd. This project to be completed by November 2026, weather permitting.
Excess dirt storage
07/07/25- The City of Moore owns the property at 800 SW 4th St. Crews are currently storing dirt at this site from the SE 4th Street underpass project. This material will be used for future city projects.
5th & Markwell Park Shaded Pavilion
9/10/2026- Contractors will be adding a Shaded Pavilion at 5th & Markwell Park. Work is set to begin by the end of October 2026, with a completion date set for the End of November 2026, weather permitting.
Cottonwood Park Shaded Pavilion
9/10/2026- Contractors will be adding a Shaded Pavilion at Cottonwood Park. Work is set to begin by the end of October 2026, with a completion date set for the End of November 2026, weather permitting.
Park Restrooms
7/23/2026- Contractors will be working on painting the insides of All of the Parks Restrooms. Work is set to begin by Mid-August 2026 with the competition date set for the end of September 2026, weather permitting.
Buck Thomas Park Baseball Fields:
2/6/2026- Contractors will be adding new restrooms at the Baseball Complex at Buck Thomas Park. Work is set to begin by the end of January 2026, with a completion date set for the beginning of September 2026, weather permitting.
Construction of sewer improvements in the following areas were financed by the grant funding administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), EPA’s Community Grant Program. This project consists of sewer line replacement and will provide water quality benefits improving public health and eliminate potential environmental hazards by mitigating sanitary sewer overflows for community residents and businesses in and near the City of Moore.
