Do I need a permit?
Building permits are required for most commercial and residential remodels, additions or improvements, as well as all new construction. If you don’t know if you need a permit, please call the Inspections Department at 405-793-5051 for assistance.
You can apply and pay for all your permits and inspections online using the GovBuilt online portal. This online platform will allow you to follow your case through the approval and inspections process.

Codes Adopted
The City of Moore has adopted the following building codes as the codes for construction within the City limits:
- 2018 NFPA Life Safety Code
- 2017 ICC A117.1 Accessible and Usable Building Facilities
All of the above codes are adopted as amended by the City of Moore and the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission. Please refer to the Code of Ordinances for a complete list of all local amendments, or contact the Inspections Division.
